Custom Raft Placement?

Is there anyway to specify where I want a raft and where I don't? Like I can do with supports? I have a piece that I really want to have that smooth finish you get from printing on the heated bed. But there's one small part of it that is narrow and tall and connects to the piece higher up. It ends u...

Re: First layer issues

So it turns out the blob I was seeing was due to a very small (4mm x 8mm) section of support material. Over such a small area the head was moving way too fast and the material was getting dragged along and into the main print. I fixed that by setting the grid for support placement to 8mm. That gave ...

First layer issues

I've just started using a new roll of Black PLA. I've already gotten some solid prints with Natural and White. But I'm running in to some new issues with the Black. I know every color and every roll is different. But I'm getting stumped on what else to adjust here. I've already tried variations of e...

Odd gaps at flat interior corners

So here's a new one (for me anyway). Last night I modeled and printed my own version of the 'Nest' from BlueLounge: http://www.bluelounge.com/products/nest/ . There was one area of the print that had issues I haven't seen before. On the flat interior "tray" area, where it meets the inside ...

Re: Request: Adjust Method for Manual Support Placement

What might be good to add is a visualization for support pillars that don't contact the model just so you know where you mouse is currently generating the tower. Right now, it only shows you the pillar if it actually contacts the model. Yes, this. :) Sometimes it's just really hard to tell why I'm ...

Request: Adjust Method for Manual Support Placement

Placing manual support can be a bit "finnicky" - especially if the part of the model I want supported is pretty small. I would like to be able to click on the "build surface" and have it just extend the support up until it hits geometry. Or perhaps the reverse of that: rotate the...

Re: Tips for Improving Bridging?

Thanks for the tips! It helped quite a bit. I ended up cooling the extrusion temp by 10 C. I also reduced the bridging extrusion multiplier by 5%. Finally I set the speed multiplier to 150%. I was able to bridge a 50mm gap with a droop of only about 0.5 mm. That's pretty good if you ask me!

Re: Feature Request-layer numbering in preview

+1

Being able to tell which layer is being shown in preview would be very helpful to fine tune temps and/or fan speeds.

Tips for Improving Bridging?

I've been calibrating and dialing in my new M2 for the last week or so when I have time to work with it. I'm currently getting some really nice prints - loving Creator. Bridging is the next area I'd like to focus on. I've been using both the 5 mm Calibration Steps http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:24...
