Re: S3D 4.1 - Still putting solid layers over air....

I can't tell what 4.1 improves in this regard when the feature update page says this has been improved. 4.1 seems to treat the top layer overhangs of this part the same way 4.0.1 does.

Re: S3D 4.1 - Still putting solid layers over air....

I complained about similar problems three years ago. It was improved in 3.x in some cases but the core problem remains. I *know* there's ways the user can make that work, but I call those workarounds, it's asking the user to do tweak settings that I think could be a checkbox if not fixed automatical...

Re: Gaps between perimeters and infill visible in g code

It does the exact same thing at 0% (oops duh on me), 10%, 30% and 100% infill, and probably everything in between. I can add perimeters but I think it's a workaround. It's a situation that I would appreciate it if the slicer can avoid doing in the first place. It seems to be a bug that pops up only ...

Re: Gaps between perimeters and infill visible in g code

Separate STL in case it's needed. See above post for the factory file.

Gaps between perimeters and infill visible in g code

In a part I was making today, I found areas where material wasn't being placed, leaving unwanted one-bead gaps between surface infill and perimeters, where interior infill wasn't being placed like it should have been, or better yet, the "top" layer extended to the perimeter. 25mm cubic buc...

Re: Perimeters being unsupported

sorry about that

I am inside-out.

More perimeters won't help because there's nothing below it to keep it up. On an inside curve the bead will tend to pull away from existing part.

Re: Perimeters being unsupported

OK, you're right. I've attached something that illustrates the problem. The model files in question weren't mine to post but I've made a quick test model to illustrate the problem. On the second layer, the two inner perimeters on the second layer won't attach to anything and just fall away for about...

Perimeters being unsupported

When I get parts that have broad curves on the underside, Simplify doesn't put support under perimeters, so the perimeters just fall away, don't attach to anything unless it's wrapping itself around something it shouldn't. This is even with layers of gap set to zero and a narrow horizontal distance ...

[ADDED] Smarter Multiprocess & Spiral mode options

S3D simply prevents me from using spiral mode with multiple processes, period. I wish it were smarter on the lock-out, since I'd like to be able to: 1) do spiral mode between certain heights, switching to a non-spiral process for different height segments. 2) sequence spiral builds, building spiral ...

Re: Request for .3MF Support

It would be nice to get 3MF support for multicolor / multimaterial objects as well.
