Re: Support for Resin printers? - AnyCubic Photon

Given how terrible the ANYCUBIC Photo Slicer and ChiTuBox are, it wouldn't be hard to be better.

And as I own several printers including (now) a Photon, I'd sure like to see Photon support added to S3D.

Re: Trouble with startup script variables

Can't help (don't have the i3 with MMU yet) but if anyone figures it out, I'd love to know about it - I am thinking seriously about getting one to be able to print different materials mixed, and I'd really rather use S3D than Slic3r. S3D produces amazingly good two-material prints from my FlashForge...

Re: S3D Automatic Fillament Unload. Replicator/FlashForge

This is a great tip, as it makes the FlashForge much easier to use. If you don't unload at the end of every print, the filament cools in a blob that can't be unloaded, and if you try it can leave a blob stuck in the extruder that's a pain to clear out. What I did in addition was add the same about t...

Re: Prints stopping or extruder carriage going crazy

I had exactly the symptoms you described, and the cause was a failing X-axis stepper motor cable. FlashForge tech support thought that it was the controller (the box with the display, SD card, and buttons). I tried printing via USB, which bypasses the SD card and controller, and I had the same probl...

Re: blobs

Reading http://www.forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=735 it looks like users have found the real problem - S3D pauses the print head while retracting, while other slicers continue motion while retracting, and the pause causes the blobs. Looks like there's a script to modify the gcode to remo...

Re: Wipe While Retracting...

After running gcode through this script, I can load it into S3G to preview, but it doesn't appear to generate the .x3g file for it. Any suggestions?

Re: More options for stronger infill.

i guess i would be envious if all i printed were half completed parts and not actually prototyping designs If you don't need infill, or you don't care what it looks like, that's great. But if you want maximum strength at minimum plastic consumption, then specific infill patterns matter. Generically...

Re: blobs

I don't think it's over-extrusion. The clue, I think, is that other than the 'zits' in specific areas the prints are fine - a calibration cube, for example, looks fine, as do wide areas of other prints, so in general extrusion is properly calibrated (diameter, temperature, etc.) - the issue has to d...
