Re: S3D and custom GPX machine definitions

Update to item #3. In Simplify3D 2.1.x, I've found that you now need to quote the output file path. Previously, S3D 2.0 was handling that and so when the directory path or file name had a space in it, things worked without quotes. In S3D 2.1, that is no longer the case and you must use /Applications...

Re: Having to wait for bed to head before extruder

For MakerBot style printers, I can confirm that unchecking that box, "Wait for temperature controller to stabilize...", will give the desired result. Both the HBP and extruder will be turned on and given their target setpoints. The start gcode will still have, after homing and whatnot, an ...

Re: Bug in temperature adjustments with hot bed

What has happened is that the gcode sets a temp for the HBP *and* specifies T0 for the tool to which the HBP is associated. T0 is "tool 0" which is the right extruder. When it did that, that caused an implicit tool change over to the right extruder. There's two ways to deal with that, 1. T...

S3D and custom GPX machine definitions

I finally spent the time to figure out a S3D / GPX issue. Namely why custom gpx.ini files weren't being picked up on OS X. Turns out it's a logic error in GPX which I posted along with a fix to the GPX mailing list. 0. I did my testing with Simplify3D 2.0.1. 1. If you're on Windows, you're okay. On ...

Re: Simplify3D and Makerbot 5th gen

I feel like half the people I talked to about this said the 5th gens DO support printing from x3g files, and the other half said no. I thought all the json stuff was just metadata for the images and all the stuff that gets displayed on the LCD panel. If you think about it, a lot of the files that M...

Re: No cooling fan on

Out of curiosity, are the M126 / M127 commands in the generated gcode? Yes: then GPX ain't turning them into the proper x3g which, in turn, suggests that GPX is being told the wrong machine type. No: well, that's special since you did elsewhere indicate that you had "M126 S$" (or similar) ...

Re: Print from SD card / Makerbot Rep 2

Was this ever solved? I'm running into the same exact issue with .x3g files generated from S3D and copied to an SD card on all of the Replicator 2's I try it on (we have five). Kind Regards, -David Barwin There is a long standing bug in MBI's firmware. The bug and fix was reported to MBI but they'v...

Re: Rep 1 dual prints 20mm to the left on left extruder

Sounds to me as though when Sailfish was installed, the installation and setup directions were not followed, http://makerbot.com/sailfish/install/ http://makerbot.com/sailfish/setup/ Specifically the step in the installation about using MakerWare to write down your toolhead offsets before upgrading....

Re: Slow down for small loops?

It would be great if Simplify3D could identify small radius turns and lower the speed appropriately... is this available and I'm just missing it? +1. And I throw this over the wall to the slicers since the slicers have the entire geometry before them and far more CPU horsepower than the puny uproce...
