Re: Is Simplify3D worth the cost?

no, dont buy it. they are a dead company, check the forum posts about it. It 'IS' a decent slicer, but once the company goes belly up you wont be able to use it anymore since it relies on internet authentication. So I want to humbly apologize for my opinion that V5 was vaporware. Thankyou S3D team ...

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

my only questions is simply. why do they ignore us when we ask about updates or any question for that matter, is there no staff left, like someone must be paying for this site to be up and running, only want a simple answer to will there be a version 5, yes or no They ignore us because they already...

Re: Why has Simplify3D been abandoned ?

I appreciate you noticing my involvement here on our user community. Thankfully, I'm not alone in moderation duties. In fact, the introduction of other moderators has afforded me more time to help out with other important projects within Simplify3D. What I said below is still true. good afternoon. ...

I consider S3D abandonware at this point. I tell everyone to avoid it now. I'm pretty sure V5 was never in the works, they made vague statements to hype up the software for one last surge of purchases before they ultimately just drop it. To be honest I'm surprised their webpage and servers still run.

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

I'm pretty sure S3D is a dead company at this point and they lie about version 5 coming in hopes of tricking the last few customers they can get into purchasing a license before they shut down their website and servers. At which point we'll all have to eventually migrate to new software since our ex...

Agreed is been a tough year, but programming is something that can be done from home, S3D can't blame covid on this issue, plus this is par for the course on how they've operated many years before 2020

Re: Version 5 Announcement

After Simplify3Ds recent blog post about spending the last year improving their Web Infrastructure, https://www.simplify3d.com/stronger-web-infrastructure-key-to-future-growth/ I half expect the next simplify3d version to be cloud/web-based. And if that happens I'm definitely moving my workflow 100%...

Re: messed up meshes on s3d exit and re-load

Thanks for the heads up. I tried searching the forum for an existing topic, but just flat out missed your thread. Yours definitely covers the problem better. I have no idea if anyone from S3D moderates these forums (i always feel like our issues go unheard, but id love to be proven wrong) but if the...

Re: messed up meshes on s3d exit and re-load

Sadly with all the bugs I'm seeing around the forums, and experiencing myself, I think Version 4.0 Is a version to avoid and to keep using v 3.1.1 until the next release (which, sadly, will probably be another year or two from now considering their previous history with extremely slow updates.) Hope...
