Re: Help please. Settings for JG Maker Artist-D Pro

his one comes with CURA which I *really* don't like using. I've become so used to Simplify3D and I enjoy using it. But alas, there is no custom driver for it in Simplify3D. Creating the Simplify3D profile using Cura is easy. 1) Load a 3D model into Cura 2) Load the Cura profile into Cura 3) Sliice ...

Re: It's always a great day for asking about V5!

Although given the competition which now exists I can understand the reluctance of releasing S3D v5, it is a pity they don't change tack and offer an S3D library instead. That way developers could design and implement their own GUI.

Installation Issue

The current web site for authenticating S3D installations works well, however the lack of which PC S3D is installed upon is a bit naff. It includes the date on which the installation was made, but makes no attempt to identify the PC. As the PC network name can be easily found it would be nice if the...

Flashforge Creator 3

I'm thinking of buying a Flashforge Creator 3. Could anyone confirm whether this printer can be connected to S3D via USB? I know my Flashforge Adventurer 3 doeesn't support USB and can't be used via WiFi.

Thanks.

More Macro Definitions

Version 4 of S3D provided the ability to define 3 Macro's.

Could the developers please consider adding to this number, perhaps to define up to 10 Macro's if not more.

Also, perhaps some thought might be given to being able to nest scripts.

Scripting Nozzle Position

I know that I can script nozzle positions using [current_X_position], [current_Y_position] and [current_Z_position], but is there a way of scripting those values to set a new position? For example, if [current_X_position] returned 50 and I wanted to change the position to [current_X_position] + 75, ...

Re: Filament stops feeding for unknown reason

This problem is resolved. Caused by questionable firmware which for unknown reason stopped feeding filament after a set period. Replaced the firmware and the problem went away.

Filament stops feeding for unknown reason

I have a new printer, an Eryone Thinker S. It has been working well, but in recent days the flow of filament stops part way thru a print - it's as though an M18 E has been issued. This seems to be repeatable, the flow stops part way thru the first layer in the same place. Issuing an M17 E doesn't re...

Setting Z Height

I have an Anycubic I3 Mega which I am adding an IR sensor to in order to calibrate the height of the Z axis. All working well, however the Z home position is 2.5mm above the bed, so I need to lower the Z axis by 2.5mm. Reading up on this subject provides details for using the G92 and M851 gcode. I h...

Re: Printing undersized holes?

You may find the following to be of use: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1712198 These plates provide holes in increasing diameter between 3mm and 25mm. When designing parts which need to accomodate bolts/screws and other physical objects you can easily find what size hole you need in the new desi...
