Re: [Feature Request] Honeycomb infill

Yep, another vote here, it makes for much greater internal strength versus grid, etc. at similar infill percentage.

Re: directly sending commands

Are there X3G alternatives? After all, S3G does the conversion from gcode to X3G automagically when you do the print request. That seems to suggest that X3G has equivalent commands to gcode. There are equivalents, but X3G is a binary format (with self-checking, aka checksumming, IIRC), so the cmds ...

Re: V2.1 Internal support not being created

As far as an inverted four-sided cube is concerned, support would be required to hold up the (bridged) top of the cube. Supports aren't automatically "infill" just because they're somewhere within the boundaries of the outer surface of the model. Consider printing a model of a dining room ...

Re: Having to wait for bed to head before extruder

Agreed, I'd much prefer it set both temps at the same time, rather than first heat bed then hotend -- that order is often worst-case in terms of duration required.

Re: Printer setting file path in OSX?

Still, there should be some location or means to add user-defined machine definitions as well. That would at least require a "known" user-writable location, not as part of the app pkg, and thus far, there doesn't appear to be one for Simplify3D on OSX. Users shouldn't have to change app pk...

Re: Manual Supports not working in 2.1

So having clearly established that Retina resolutions ARE the problem, has Simplify3D Support come up with an explanation why the problem didn't show up during their (allegedly) Retina-active testing?

Re: Printrbot Simple2014 won't connect...

As another 3printer pointed out to me, the serial rate of the port isn't "real", in the sense the data across USB is transferred at USB rate regardless, so it doesn't really matter what I set it to on the computer side, in terms of what the printer sees. The serial rate only controls the c...

Re: Printrbot Simple2014 won't connect...

The 250000 baud rate can be really buggy on the Mac (and Linux for that matter). My recommendation would be to just update your firmware to use the 115200 baud rate which is natively supported and compatible across all the major operating systems Can you point me to any posted/published reports cit...

Printrbot Simple2014 won't connect...

I've got a Printrbot Simple2014 that runs fine with Pronterface (via /dev/cu.usbmodem12341 @ 250000bps), Repetier (same port/rate), you name it. However, when I attempt to connect via Simplify3D using /dev/cu.usbmodem12341 @ 250000bps, I get a warning about it being "natively unsupported" ...
