Re: dual extrusion still problematic

As noted up on the Google group.... this appears to be more of a cockpit problem than a S3D issue..... right?

Re: Troubles with version 3.0

Instead of starting another thread, I'll scab onto this one. Shut my printer down (MBI R2X) while it was still attached via USB to the Control Panel (ooops.. my bad). After restarting the printer I was not able to reconnect to it via S3D (I've seen this before in V2.X). Closed and re-opened S3D and ...

Re: Z-axis not locked

I think the z-axis not locking was a fluke. I tried again and it didn't move. I still have the problem where replicatorG slicing did a great job printing my object but Simplify 3D had trouble with the first layer. I looked at the gcode for both and for replicatorG the z height for the first layer i...

Re: Z-axis not locked

I think I figured out the root cause of my problem. I found out there is a bug in the Replicator 2 where the z-axis doesn't always lock. This was fixed in Sailfish 7.7 - although apparently it's not a Sailfish bug, but Sailfish was able to to a fix. I've upgraded from Sailfish 7.6 to 7.7 and that s...

Re: Loosing Faith

You are possibly not getting a lot of responses because you don't seem to be familiar with the capabilities of your hardware and what the machine is capable of. Your machine should be running a derivative of the Sailfish firmware. As long as acceleration hasn't been disabled, you should be able to e...

Re: where did the steps per mm come from

hiya guys. using a stepper motot 1.8 deg with 1/16 micro stepping should give me 3200 steps for a complete revolustion. The circumference of the feed gear is 10.7mm becky The circumference is 10.7mm... or the DIAMETER is 10.7mm. I'm thinking that your circumference is more like 33.6mm......

Re: Chronic Nozzle Clogging Issues, Retraction Possible Culp

The Dreamer series has a pretty serious design error where they terminate the thermocouple wiring at the carriage instead of running it all the way back to the control board (where the cold junction compensation lives). That means that the reported extruder temperature is not correct, and the true t...

Re: Z-axis not locked

There is also a bug in the Makerbot firmware associated with "Z hold". This bug will only get you when you print over USB (not off of the SD), and will "go away" if you cancel the print and then start again. This bug was clearly identified and rectified by the Sailfish firmware t...

Re: Concurrent printing with dual extruders

I can't find an option for ditto printing. Is this still available? I'm printing many small duplicate parts and this would be a great time saver. "Ditto Printing" is a firmware feature, not a feature of S3D. It is available on printers running the Sailfish firmware (Makerbots and Makerbot...
