Re: Not stable on Mac just crashes after trying to import a

I upgraded to El Capitan and got Simplify3D 3.0.2 installed just now, but still can't print using USB. I've rebooted, quit S3D and launched it again, tried manually connecting, rebooted printer, no luck. S3D seems to hang when it tries to do USB in El Capitan. Anyone else seen this, found a workarou...

Re: Flashforge Creator compatibility and a few other questio

I use S3D with my FlashForge Creator. One minor thing is that S3D doesn't allow the extruders and build plate to preheat at the same time, though I think there's something you can edit to fix that. Haven't found it yet though. There was a bug where if you used the left extruder you had to heat the r...

Re: FlashForge x S3D will heat, won't print left nozzle

This sounds like a well-known long-time "feature" of S3D that I've been living with from the beginning. You can't use the left extruder unless you also heat the right extruder. You don't have to heat the right extruder to full working temperature, however--just pick some temperature that's above nor...

Re: No left extruder

That's interesting. I've posted about a bug where if I try to use the left extruder (via USB) the extruder and platform both heat up, but the software waits forever with a display similar to yours. If I tell it to heat the right extruder also, then it starts printing as soon as everything is hot. So...

Re: What could be causing this horrible top surface?

Thanks, that did the trick!
Unfortunately, I got one good print and tried a second, and returned to find a thin bottom layer with little trees sticking up here and there. I assume the nozzle plugged or something, haven't done the surgery yet to see.

What could be causing this horrible top surface?

IMG_7924 Top view.jpg I don't know what I've got wrong here. The sides look pretty good, except at a few spots, but the top surfaces (at various heights) are horrible, like the part was boiling. IMG_7926 macro of top.jpg I was only aware of the usual problem, that you have to heat both extruders or...

Re: Never goes past the heating. How cancel?

I manually forced the right (unused) extruder to heat also, and when it got hot too, the job finally started.
So the job is waiting for the wrong extruder to get hot.

Never goes past the heating. How cancel?

When I prepare to print, all looks normal, the bed and left extruder preheat and reach their set temperatures, but the FlashForge display says "temp 9%" and just sits there. What could it be waiting for??? If I cancel the print, on the FlashForge, it is not clear how to get the S3D software in sync ...

Re: Bizarre DualStrusion failure!

I found the problem, but couldn't post for 4 days because of waiting for moderation! The problem is that Simplify3D won't print features that are not larger than the nozzle. I was trying to print lines that were equal to the nozzle diameter. So I switched strategies, printing things with large featu...

Bizarre DualStrusion failure!

I'm trying to make a fast-to-print pattern for checking extruder alignment, which is clearly off when printing a traffic cone, but that's too time consuming to use as a test pattern. So I made a trivial OpenSCAD program, and exported the STL separately for the two pieces, then imported them into Sim...
