Yes, the ability to toggle between perspective/orthographic would be very useful in placing manual supports.

I don't understand this. How would it be possible to determine time or material usage without it being sliced first?

Print speed, layer height, nozzle size, and infill are all variables that will affect time/material values.

You can do this very easily with TinkerCAD. Just load the STL file using the import options on the top right, then put a 'hole' shape over the bit you don't want to print. I've done that a lot in TinkerCad, but performance really suffers with busy/complicated STLs. Had the program hang a few times,...

I suggest the capability to create a mirror image of a part on the build plate.

This would be useful to make right hand and left hand versions of the same part.

Or can we already do that?

I'd like to see a counter that shows filament used and filament needed while a job is printing. This would make it easier to see if we have enough filament as we approach the end of a spool. It would be even better if it re-calculates as we override the extrusion settings.

Repetier has a split function, which allows you to manipulate/delete parts from complicated assemblies.
