I haven't been back to the forum for a while but I just wanted to say thanks for the reply. Seems like this is the way to solve the problem. I'll have a look at the firmware as soon as I have some spare time.

I was wondering if there is a possibility to lower the initial speed whenever the print head changes direction in order to prevent the machine from shaking.
