Re: How toStrengthen Tall Thin Supports

Because I have a similar problem, I have played with some solutions. Instead using a complicate support tree it suffers to use a simple shim, an adjusted form or similar . Positioned under the print edge in certain distance, S3D build support from the print table up to the shim and than from the shi...

Re: How toStrengthen Tall Thin Supports

Hi Wirlybird, I would try to add a cylinder or similar under as an additional part, just up to the last 5 mm . Use a separate process for it, support must be set to "Normal". With an elefantfoot on the additional part and sufficient support distance to objects of the main model you can avoid support...

Re: Quality problem, mini stairs along z axis

I have print a lot of tests , but with my standard settings I could not reproduce your issues. The picture shows an ensemble of 3 small cubes (print stopped by 5 mm) , will say the print has position changes between the models with retracts ( ... Only when crossing open spaces) Material ABS, 230°, b...

Re: Quality problem, mini stairs along z axis

... I want to try it out later, actually the Mankati is running with a 12 hours print (ABS clear, up to now at halftime nearly perfect) and I'm sorry, the A8 has loaded at the moment very expensiv filament ( > 50 € / 500 gr.), not recommendable to play with.

Re: Retraction doesn't work

It sounds like a gear is sliping on its axis or a ball bearing blocs. I can only say what I would try out: - testing motors movement forward and backward without filament (empty). Next step - testing the extruder with filament but without a nozzle. Surely most users here have experiences also with h...

Re: Retraction doesn't work

Hi,
other functions backwards are running? (manual movement extruder back, filament changing ?)

retraction distance, other than zero in tab extruder of the setting window is set?

machine type is right? - delta robot.

Re: Quality problem, mini stairs along z axis

Ok, what I can say to the problem is: the layer height 0.30 mm, related to the nozzle diameter and its extrusion width of 0.40 mm each, is a lot out of range! It makes 75% layer height / extrusion width while values of 30% and below are recommended. This cause that the out coming material is not pre...

Re: Internal Brim/Skirt

... I would prefer individual settings for each.

Individual settings are one of the things what makes the difference to other slicers.

Re: Internal Brim/Skirt

@ S3D-Jake with raft you lose the optical outfit of the underside, an inside brim / skirt would be a better solution. But your changing of system concerning the distance of brim / skirt has not reached the old standard as we had in version 3.xx Before the changing I printed with 0,05 mm distance and...
