You are making sense. As you say, if I'm understanding... the slicer sees this is a continuation of the perimeter and not the top. What would of been some ways to avoid this? I'm guessing that with a little bit of infill (despite wanting the model hollow) it's would of closed it up more (I'll experi...

Thanks for the comments. I'm surprised that it's not being printed as a top solid, 6 layers/ If you preview the gcode what you see is that this is left as is and the areas around it get ~ six solid layers. This particular area is low in height then the neighboring areas but still is the top skin of ...

I have a model (G-Code attached for preview) that when I print, it leaves a hole at the top of the back (it's a model of a cat created by a 12 year old!) where I would expect it to fill with as a top solid layer and zero infill.
