Hi, I tried printing this one : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5254 But it generates impossible print, with automatic support generation. I have attached a picture, showing the hand is not supported and it starts printing in mid-air. I could make sure averythng was OK manually, but it would be nic...

Not possible to turn platform view on in pre-slice view
If Platform has been turned of in preview, and the you exit preview mode, there is no way to turn it back on, except "prepare to print" and then check the box. It should probably be in the view menu as well.

+1 - I do a lot of fidling with original STL file and then checking how it slices. (enjoying the fast slicing of S3D!)
