Re: Multiple Process Scripts

The cooling section of each process is what you want to look at. One probably is turning on the fan and the other is turning it off. I attempted a 2-process print but noticed a prominent seam (a couple of layers extending beyond the ideal surface of the model) where the first process ended and the ...

Re: Novice User Question

Can some one clue me in on if its worth it for a Novice. thoughts appreciated .. You will find that Simplify3d slices far faster than XYZware, and it offers a great deal of control over things like infill, print temperatures, speed and more. One of the frustrations I had with XYZware was finding th...

Re: Unwanted flanges on flat parts

Very helpful, thanks. In my case the mating surfaces are halves of the same object, so this might may not work, but I'll give it a try. Currently, a first layer width of 60% (printing at 0.2mm) has it nearly eliminated for the PLA currently being used. Good to have another option to experiment with!

Can you include an image of the bevelled edge from your CAD program? I'd like to see an example.

I'm new as well. Glad to see it was worth asking the question!

What a great suggestion! Thanks!

Re: Unwanted flanges on flat parts

Just for followup ... Looks like this is less noticeable on some filaments. I can nearly eliminate it with Colorfabb XT just by modifying the first layer width, but hard to do so with the straight PLA I've used. Didn't notice it with ABS on the DaVInci either, but that is known to print a bit high o...

Re: Unwanted flanges on flat parts

In my case a bed calibration is performed automatically before each print (I'm using a ZYYX), so the z height adjustment is determined at print time, and not easily changed. I haven't tried a raft since I wanted flat mating surfaces and thought the raft cleanup would be more effort than trimming the...

Unwanted flanges on flat parts

I'm printing an item in two halves I want to glue together. I'm finding that on doing the edges extend a bit beyond the nominal boundary of the object, resulting in an unwanted flange or lip that must be sanded or cut off. I've adjusted two settings without completely eliminating them: temperature (...
