Preview by nozzle temperature

I really like how you can preview your sliced-up print by movement speed, active process, feature type, etc. However one notable omission from this list is nozzle temperature. It would be extremely helpful if I could select nozzle temperature from the "Coloring" dropdown menu in the previe...

Clarification re:temperature setpoints with multiple process

Hi, I'm confused about the following: multi-process triggering is done via height in mm, e.g., you can tell the software, at 20mm, stop printing process A and start printing process B. However, temperature setpoints are coordinated in layers, not height from the build platform. So my question is: ar...

Re: v4 hangs when slicing a model

Hey, I've been really frustrated with this problem lately as well. Unfortunately I can't post my factory file right now due to IP disclosure reasons, but the basic problem is that slicing with single extrusion fill selected on larger models often results in the slicer hanging indefinitely with the m...

Re: How does the Retraction Script feature work?

@gtakacs agreed - I'd imagine it would take a Simplify3D developer no more than an afternoon to break that tab out into a pre- and a post- retraction script, with a checkbox that allows you to override the firmware retract and just do what's in the scripts.

@Simplify3D please have someone do this!

How does the Retraction Script feature work?

Maybe I'm just bad at using Google, but I can't seem to find any explanation of how the Retraction Script in the "Scripts" tab is parsed. Specifically: does it override the retraction settings from the Extruder tab? If so, does it override all of the settings, or some of them? Is there any...

Re: No toolpath generated

Thank you Joe! Setting from a prior experiment that I forgot about. I do think it's a bit counter-intuitive that the "auto-configure for print quality" buttons don't reset those sorts of things to default values, but maybe I'm just used to Makerware (which does behave that way). Thanks aga...

No toolpath generated

Hey guys. I have a factory file here that isn't generating any toolpaths for some reason. When I hit "Prepare to Print" it doesn't report any obvious failures, it just goes into preview mode and displays an empty bed. Build time is reported as 0 hours 0 minutes, using 0mm of filament. It's...

Re: [Feature Request] Honeycomb infill

I just want to add another vote to this feature request. Honeycomb infill is sweet, especially when using translucent filaments that allow you to see the profile through the walls. I am super annoyed with MakerBot for all sorts of reasons (like that they have the nerve to ask for $100 for the privil...
