Re: Version 5 Announcement

Hi, looking forward to any any news about v5 too. Have used Simplity3D since v3 and it has saved me a lot of time and avoided wasting a lot of filament like was happening with other slicers. Am ready to buy the upgrade

Re: alternate between extruders for each layer

Thanks for the reply. I have used the dual extrusion wizard for objects that were created with separate models. What i was looking for was a way to use the slicer to convert a single model object into a mixed filament result. Editing the object into two models is possible but then it is hard to figu...

alternate between extruders for each layer

Searched the forums and support, do not see if this feature already exists. I have a dual extruder (Powerspec Pro/Flashforge clone). My request - can the slicer alternate between each extruder for each layer e.g I have purple PETG filament loaded in left extruder and glow in the dark filament in the...

Re: Printing time significantly different than build statist

I have a dual extruder (Powerspec 3d pro, standard 3DS profile) and occasionally get prints that take double the estimated time. Eventually found what causes it: Prepare to Print! > [it selects all the profiles] > OK > start printing The fix is to unselect all the profiles i do not want, select only...

Re: Flashforge Creator x - Dual Extrusion - doesn't

Not sure exactly what is causing the issue but can offer some ideas: are you using the Tools > Dual extrusion wizard? Is makerware the makerbot software? IIRC on windows it runs a background service, which caused me some problems when trying to run other slicers. If you still have makerware installe...

Re: Print times woefully wrong

I had a few prints that went to exactly double the time until I noticed a problem on my dual extruder Powerspec. Some how had selected two profiles or two extruders for a single extruder task, and the printer was trying to print twice. e.g. it would print the layer with filament from the left extrud...

Re: Extruder temperature drop in v. 3.02

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. IIRC the new V3 now selects all profiles when you click 'Prepare to Print!' I had another profile set for the second extruder, and somehow it switched off the temperature setting on the first extruder. All I can suggest is to ensure that you only select that pr...

Re: SImplify3D won´t install on Win7 64bit

I could install Simplify3d on Win7 x64 (Dell latitude) then hit some problems connecting to the printer. Eventually discovered it was the other 3d printing apps on the computer causing the problem. One of them (do not recall) had a background process that was connecting to the printer so the USB por...
