Re: brim outside of printable space - really?

+1

I've had this happen with all of the automatic inclusions. It appears that there is no bound checking whatsoever for the things in the "Additions" tab. Seems like sloppy coding :/

Re: Memory Leak

There's another thread about this issue here: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2160&p=10225&hilit=MASSIVE#p10212 I've also directly e-mailed support about this problem, and I got their seemingly-standard non-committal response to bugs. Specifically, they said: "I will forward this to...

Re: Failed support generation for point-overhangs

My resolution is at the minimum -- 1mm. I find it a bit strange that this needs a resolution, and I've seen some really strange results when changing the resolution around, where it will sometimes just completely misses large overhangs. I think MakerWare uses a different (better) algorithm (and like...

Re: Failed support generation for point-overhangs

Just for comparison, I sliced this in Makerware and it did what you'd expect:

Failed support generation for point-overhangs

It seems that s3d cannot find single-point overhangs, common with rotated pieces. Even at the best support generation resolution, it won't correctly generate supports for this model: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n8ibu7s88qm6lso/Screenshot%202015-04-15%2014.37.36.png?dl=1 Resulting in this awesomeness: ...

Re: Improvement Request: Generate Raft only under supported

+1 Makerware does this correctly, and it doesn't seem that hard.

Re: Feature Request - Lay Flat

+1

I end up using Cura to break apart and lay my parts flat, then export/import into STL. If s3d had "split into multiple models" and "lay flat" I could do it all in s3d.

Re: MASSIVE memory leaks

I am experiencing the same leak, and it's really a shame, because it compromises one of the best features of S3D: the fast slicing and previewing. I'm working with fairly large models and I do frequent slice/preview/tweak settings cycles. After a while, S3D is using 5GB of ram, whereas it only uses ...

Re: Re-Import in-Place

+1 for this. Especially when using custom supports, this would be a HUGE time saver for small adjustments.

Re: Feature Request: Transformation Undo

As a recent purchaser of Simplify3d, I strongly second this request. It's honestly pretty close to a deal-breaker for me. I find myself accidentally scaling my object, and when this happens, I basically have to start over from scratch because I have no way of know exactly what the scale was before. ...
