Re: M106 appears before start script

As you quite rightly say, the 15 second fan override is being implemented for the first layer.....i.e. the software is "doing what is says on the tin" and overriding the fan speed if the time to print the layer.....any layer.....is less than 15 seconds. The best I can offer is to suggest you use the...

Re: Support "Extra inflation" prints in air

Yep. You're wrong about that! This has been the behavior for a very long time. Personally, I wouldn't worry about this overhanging extra support. Just print it!. You'll get good support where you want it.....and a bit of distorted extra support is nothing to be concerned about. I'd even wind back th...

Re: Refusing to add support beneath

Nothing to do with bridging settings, I'm afraid! The auto-generation of supports is dependant on the combination of the bottom-facing area and width of the part and the settings used. Needless to say that in this case, the algoryth is not finding sufficient downward facing area per unit bed size to...

Re: Simplify freezing

To expand on the last answer, issues that have caused freezing: Bad stl file........try different stls, and run these two through a repair utility if you can slice other stls Non-supported characters in the stl or profile names......rename using basic alphabet. Corruption in profile........delete pr...

Re: Computer died - settings recovery question

Oh I do have access to all my old factory, stl, and gcode files. Two out of three of these DO have your settings.... Load a factory file.....and your settings are there in the profiles! You'll just need to save them into processes GCode.....view with a text editor.....and the settings are in commen...

Re: Changing extrusion multiplier during print

It can be done.....but is complicated and messy to set up.

An alternative way of tuning the first layer WITHOUT messing with the extrusion multiplier is detailed in this thread:

Re: Changing a layer flow rate in a script?

Here's a very simple way of achieving the same result...... 1) Increase the first layer height 2) Reduce the Global-Z height. Just because there isn't a setting that says "Make a cup of tea." it doesn't mean you're going to go thirsty!! I do know of a way to increase the flow rate for one specific l...

Re: printing hole for motor shaft

The first thing I would do is to modify the part so that the hole is much deeper ....so the bottom of the hub almost reaches the gearbox frame. Those motor/gearbox combos do have an enormous flat milled in the shaft, and to get a well aligned fit, you do need the hub right down on the shaft where th...
