Re: Reload Stl-file from disk

+100

I do this all the time tabbing between S3D and Modo or Tinkercad. Then having to reload the STL and reposition it every time. What a time saver it would be if we could just right click and "Reload from Disk"

Settings files questions.

Windows 10, S3D. 3.0. 1. Where are process settings files stored and how does one export/import and edit them outside S3D? 2. On the compound settings profiles (LulzBot Taz 5 for example), is there a list of what settings are global for the whole profile and what settings are stored/changed with the...

Re: 3.0 now requires internet access?

The X just closes that login window. Won't run. Never launches the main window. I ran it once with the internet. Selected taz 5. Let it open main window. Then I moved the PC over to the printer shelf (no internet there) only to find it will not run. I gave up. I removed it and went back to using the...

3.0 now requires internet access?

FAQ: Does Simplify3D require constant internet access? No. As before, the software can still be used without internet access. However, you will need to be connected to the internet to retrieve profile and software updates. I started it once, chose the Taz5 as my printer. Closed it and disconnected t...

Re: Start @ and End @ ability to also choose layer

I really do wish it just worked like most other apps like Corel for example. If there is a box you can type 1" or 10mm or .4cm or .4' and it will convert it to whats needed in the box. This box should easily take "15.5mm" or "10-". The dash at the end would indicate the numb...

Re: Filament Storage

I am using orange Home Depot buckets with screw top lids made by gamma. I lasered a hole in the center of the lid and hot glued a hygrometer (off ebay) so I can monitor the humidity in the buckets. For drying, I made pouches of desiccant to put in each made from cat litter and coffee filters. Here a...

Start @ and End @ ability to also choose layer

The current settings demand you input specific MM settings. It would be nice to be able to either input MM or specific layer #. I rarely know the specific MM but I frequently know the layer (from the slice preview). Doing the math (layer height * layer number) gets me close enough most of the time. ...

Re: Tip of the Day 17 -New Feature- Horizontal Size Compensa

This is a great new feature of version 2.2.2. It's very helpful when printing functional parts that interact with each other. I wonder why slicers do not normally have this on the Z axis as well? if your Z Steps are right. then Z can be adjusted using the Extrusion multiplier. up to a point.. when ...

Trouble with Dual Extruders on Taz 5

First, why is there no FFF for Taz 5? Its got a different hot end with different limits than T4. Anyway.. I went thorugh the set up by Lulz using slicr and pronterface and measuring the squares' centering. They are centerd to within .01mm (closest I can measure with digital calipers). Insane method ...
