Preview actual support while adding support

I have a delta printer and print tall objects that need support, for example a complicated helmet. When adding support you see pillars, but can not tell how the support will actually generate, so you end up with single lines of tall support are not connected to anything and have no chance of survivi...

You can drag the build plate vertically using the right mouse button. That helped me view the bottom layers better.

I second the 3D mouse support request.

This is a feature that Meshmixer has - under Analysis - Orientation. That is one of the things I use Meshmixer for, and since it's free - why not?
It will orient it for the least support material, then just export the STL in that position, or use the angles in S3D.

I am the OP, I have purchased S3D now, and I have imported and centered my bed STL. BTW: I am not overriding my machine settings in processes - as I only have the one machine. So I only needed to go to Tools, Options, Machine and add the correctly positioned STL under Printer Models. BTW, while mess...

Custom Bed Shape?

I am considering purchasing Simplify3D. Is there an option now that will allow me to specify a custom bed shape? I have a large format Delta printer that has a mostly triangular bed that's 17" across. With Slic3r I can import an STL with the bed shape, and then it is easy to position large mode...
