Re: Saving

Hi Ernie, It took me a long time and many test prints to get to a confident position with my programs. There are variables which may require some changes to your settings, such as material type/supplier, but in general I find that I am turning the raft on or off and that's about it. I am a believer ...

Raft Separating

Hi Everyone, I have been having a problem with the raft separating. It sticks well to the build plate and perfectly to the print, but somehow splits in 2 which allows the print to warp. I have attached the factory file and a couple of photos for you to have a look at. I have asked support to have a ...

Re: Seeking advice on holes in top of print

This problem almost made me contemplate suicide (just joking) but it was very frustrating. Have a look at this it was very helpful to me, the big change for me that sorted the problem was the extrusion multiplier, I bumped it up to 1.15 and the problem was solved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPE...

Re: uneven skin thickness

I have just read my last post and have to admit that I was extremely frustrated at the time, I am so sorry for any offence I may have caused. I know that the advice given on sites like this is free and with the best possible intentions. OK, having got that all off my chest, let me tell you all where...

Re: uneven skin thickness

Thanks everyone for your effort, but to say I got it working is a bit of an over-statement. I cannot get the result I am after, and to be honest I don't believe it is possible. I don't know how these slicing programs work, but what I do know is that Makerware have got it right and Simplify3D have do...

Drying out Contaminated Material

I know I am not alone in having a roll of material that has absorbed moisture, but is there a successful way that anyone has adopted to dry the roll out and make it good again? There must be a way of saving these rolls from the dustbin. ;)

Re: White PLA problems

Thanks, I did think it was moisture, but I noted that my usual supplier did not sell white, so I wondered if there were any properties that were peculiar to white only.
Do you have a preferred supplier? or can you recommend where to get a good quality 1.75 white from?

White PLA problems

I have been having problems trying to get white PLA to give me any kind of acceptable result. I bought 2 reels of material which arrived well sealed, so should have no moisture contamination, but as you can see from the photos the same part with no changes to the program printed great with 6 month o...

Re: uneven skin thickness

Thanks for the input. I tried so many variations and ended up attaching the wrong factory file, sorry about that. What I ended up doing was splitting the model into 4 parts and adjusting each section accordingly and it printed great. :D . One thing to note is that jimc is 100% correct, the holes wer...

Re: uneven skin thickness

I have increased the top layers to 7 and still have the same thickness, and so of course the holes are still there. :?: :?:
