Alternating or Interlocking Layer Heights

This was interesting. He used Simplify3D to do this, but had to do it manually. Would be nice if it was a built in feature. I'd love to make stronger prints with this method.

Re: S3D not maintaining extruder temp.

Is that the S3D or a printer problem? Sounds to me more like a printer problem, but I could be wrong. Have you tried another slicer on the printer recently?

Newest Slicer Problem

Hi all, I updated to the latest Simply3D and since tried to reslice a model I've printed before with no problems. Now when I prepare to print, some of the model goes away. I can't figure out how to stop the slicer from doing this. It's basically a model with support structure in the model itself, so...

Re: Communication problems since updating to 3

My biggest problems have been with the extruded. It is severely under extruding and acting weird. I haven't been able to print since the upgrade came out. Thought I just had a clog but deep cleaned hot end and still same. Always something :( I too see this problem, so much that I can't use S3D 3.x ...

Dreamer + S3D 3.0x won't extrude

I'm having problems getting S3D 3.0x to work with my FF Dreamer Printer. I printed a lot with S3D 2.x with no problems, or at least nothing big. Since updating to 3.0x I can't seem to get the extruders to work. I've uploaded a gcode file from my current attempts, it's attached to this post. The prin...

Re: Communication problems since updating to 3

I'm seeing a few comm issues, but fortunately not during printing (though other issues are there...) USB comm seems to drop a lot with S3D 3.0, and even causes the printer to freeze at times. When I can get S3D to work, I'm stuck printing to file and putting on a SD card. This is on a FF printer.

Re: FlashForge correct extruder not preheating

I'm starting to thing FF and S3D 3.0 were not made for each other. Kinda sad since I bought both together from FF. I'm stuck now with printing from other software with less results than with S3D 2.x I hope they get these issues worked out eventually.

Re: Odd Windows 10 issue

.... the preview works fine on my Windows 10 box, so that's more evidence to confirm its driver related... I really hate generalizations like this. Just because it works with one machine but not another doesn't put the blame entirely on the driver. There are standards, and if they are not followed ...

Re: FF Creator Pro - Right Extruder

I'm having similar issues with S3D 3.x and a FF Dreamer. The right extruder just doesn't like this slicer. Really disappointed in S3D at this point.

Re: 3.0.1 bug: Supports won't go away

I'm seeing a lot of problems with supports too. They intermittently work or don't work with no reasoning that I can find. I don't use supports a lot, so I've worked around the problems somewhat.
