Re: Extruder Jamming caused by Simplify

The sort of jamming I think you're describing happens from (usually PLA) slumping in the extruder due to heat creeping up past the heat break. Smaller, more intricate designs have more retractions, which exacerbate problems with too warm filament in the cool portion of the extruder. This type of pro...

Re: Prints curling/warping - suggestions needed

Curling is due to the upper layers cooling more than the lower layers, pulling inward and then lifting up from the bed. To reduce this you must reduce the differential temps between the top and bottom layers. You can set your bed to be hotter for the first layer, then somewhat cooler after the first...

Re: Process versus Profiles etc

Thanks, getting clearer - But, if a process determines which profiles are applied to which objects, then those objects must be present in the process right? How then is a process distinct from a factory? Does a process merely store the link to a group of STLs while the factory actually bundles the S...

Re: Certain Angled Shapes have Rough Edge

Is that particular overhang on the same side as the longer portion of your heat block? I saw a similar thing and pulled my hair out over it until I noticed I only had the issue on one side of the print bed. I added some insulation to the underside of the heat block and cured it! Could be a contribut...

Re: Where is it ?

Wouldn't it be a good approach to warn the user that a certain feature, although in the design, isn't printable with the current config/settings?

Simplify "portable"

New user here... I like to keep my slicer profiles/configurations in a central place (dropbox) so I can get consistent results slicing from the machine next to the printer, the server in the office and the laptop. First, I assume there are some sort of configuration/ini files which contain the proce...
