Re: Fan Control

Well, software doen't know how polymer behave to downward cooling and which kinda finish and strenght you want for your part. You have to know how your material behave. Eg ABS won't like to be cooled, because of it's polymerization characteristics, keeping in mind that it's NOT a material engineered...

Re: Gaps in the bottom layer?

Well... So we got an underlying problem. I'm sure your bed is definitely leveled, but what about initial nozzle height? Even before print you have a gap between nozzle and bed, which will increase as first layer begin to be printed. Sum layer height and initial Gap and you get bad sticking part. Try...

Re: Bug with deselecting models

It cant be a feature if it creates more problems than advantages. It's surely a bug, if the user unchecks a model that user SURELLY dont want that model to be printed, there is no difficulty in understanding this. Maybe S3D dont care about the users, it has been months since the last update do the ...

Re: Print failure. Underextrusion? Clogging?

I've got same problem many times a long ago. Failures cames from 3 things: Filament diameter fluctuation: the tolerance of the filament was too high +/-0.1 ~, remember to buy filament with a tolerance in the range of +/-0.05 ~ or your filament could be bloched into the bowden tube or even in the hot...

Re: Gaps in the bottom layer?

As far as I can see, you have an extrusion % in first layer over 100. I find it quite useless (IMHO). I better use 125% height for the first layer (eg. nozzle 0.4 -> layer 0.2 -> first layer 125% [first layer became 0.25]). First layer won't be squashed down (useless for PLA/ABS/PVA/PET-G, useful on...

Re: Warping in S3D but not Cura

Wrong. The percentage is relative to Layer Height, not to Nozzle Size. He didn't express the nozzle size (at least not in this thread). Squashing the first layer is not a good thing (not true in Nylon). You get a razor sharp corner and possibly a terrible slope ramp on the bottom layers, with the ne...

Re: Print islands sequentially without optimization option..

It's not a clear bug. Seems to me that Simplify lacks of some options.
For really small parts it should have a simple option to avoid consecutive layer printed if the area is smaller than Xmm2.

Slicer bug in Relative Extrusion

A quite great bug found in slicing with Realtive Extrusion Distances active. http://s24.postimg.org/vndyk8en5/Config.jpg The Process Configurator http://s17.postimg.org/inpqqc9y3/S3_D_Slice_view.jpg The Simplify3D view http://s29.postimg.org/ig9vige9f/Pronterface_w_nozzle_path.jpg How Pronterface (P...
