Re: Increase update frequency

The updates we released for V5 were actually faster than any other major version like V3, V4, etc. They did a great job during that time of quickly adding features and bug fixes that users were requesting. Recently, the team is working on the next major update, so it's normal there's going to be a l...

Re: print items one at a time

This is a really post, so it might have been better as a new topic, but there are new changes in V5 that were specifically to help make sequential printing easier. If you have 10 parts you want to print sequentially, we now have a wizard to configure everything automatically. Just import all of the ...

Re: 'Show machine background' option

You can already provide a custom location for the file.

Just change this line:
<machineBackgroundModel>my_model.stl</machineBackgroundModel>

To this:
<machineBackgroundModel>C:\complete\path\to\my_model.stl</machineBackgroundModel>

Re: Next release?

We're working on the next major release now. I'm not able to share specific features yet, but I can tell you they do a great job prioritizing features that are requested most by customers. Many of the big things they've already completed are features I've seen requested a lot here and elsewhere. In ...

Re: How to Lower the Heatbed After Printing Completes

We usually include the full scripts so that users can customize the commands. Did you try adding the G1 Z command I had suggested? That would have accomplished the same thing.

Re: Linux launcher for Gnome/KDE/etc

Sounds like the user above was able to run V5 on wayland just fine. What exact issues are you having? Have you tried the QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland option?

Re: Firmware Retraction

The instructions posted above still work in V5, so that's an easy way to use firmware retractions right now.

If you need more complex retract/prime behavior, V5 also added pre and post retraction scripts for further customization.

Re: How to Lower the Heatbed After Printing Completes

In that case, you can just use a G1 Z movement in the ending script. Read the link above and it explains the syntax for the G1 commands.

Re: Expansion, Process, and Documentation Questions

There's a good amount of stuff explained at this link: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=2367 For some of the newer settings in V5, I can give you some quick advice too. - Top Layer Extra Expansion: Why is this set to 1mm? What does it do? How does it do it? The top layer regions are just...
