+1 for 3D mouse. I constantly switch between solidworks and S3D and its just sad and slow to not use the 3D mouse in S3D. What would also help and really can't cost much is the "zoom to pointer" functionality where the zoom coming from the mouse wheel not stubbornly keeps using the center ...

first layer height AND speed could ( should ) have the option to be expressed in mm / mm/sec as they barely change, at this point changing layer height or speed always requires going back and re-calculating the desired speed/ height in percent in order not to screw things up
