Re: Uncontrollable 200% infill/skirt speed

Yes. OP's point is that it is printing at the default printing speed.

That's the problem.

There are underspeeds for a reason and if an update is suddenly going to exempt certain parts from their respective underspeeds, it makes them kind of useless.

Re: Print Speed for Skirt, Skirt under Support

Again though, I would really love to have a separate setting for the speed at which the skirt is printed, because as I said, currently my skirt is arbitrarily printing at MUCH faster speeds than my raft, despite the fact that they both follow my already very slow first-layer-underspeed settings. I c...

Re: Raft separation distance and next layer height problem

Which is weird because Makerbot rafts do not print at anywhere near 100% infill. Their hardware is trash, but I've been consistently impressed at how well Makerbot nailed their slicing. Even with all the customizability, Simplify3D is still banging rocks together when it comes to support material ge...

Configuration Assistant keeps creating unnecessary FFF's

So I use Simplify3D to control 2 different machines, a Lulzbot Taz 4 and an Airwolf HD2X. Switching from one to the other is easy with the Configuration Assistant. It automatically resizes the plate and tells the software everything it needs to know about the machine. My problem is that every time I...

Re: Raft separation distance and next layer height problem

What I would like it to do is this. Let's say that we have a standard layer height of .2mm, and a raft separation of .15mm. Instead of printing like this.... Layer 1 Height (Raft): 0mm Layer 2 Height (Raft): .2mm Layer 3 Height (Raft): .4mm Layer 4 Height (Raft): .6mm Layer 5 Height (Raft): .8mm Lay...

Re: Raft separation distance and next layer height problem

Adding my voice to this thread. The second layer of the print is just squishing down all the material from first layer after the raft. It's impossible to remove the print from the raft, and makes it near-impossible to use our Airwolf printer.

Re: Print Speed for Skirt, Skirt under Support

I would really love to have a separate setting for the speed at which the Brim is printed. It prints far too fast and ends up bird-nesting my plate before the rest of the print even begins. However, slowing the skirt down using the other settings that factor into it (First layer speed for example) t...

Tip: Checkered Support Material

If you're interested in getting support material that looks like this: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4107/5061026885_d32db0e065_b.jpg Take a closer look at your Support Infill Angles setting. Instead of just putting in each angle once, you can actually input duplicate angles and write out a pattern...

Re: Repeatable Failure To Print -- Early in Raft

I managed to fix my error. It has to do with the fact that while a perimeter is printing, the computer seems to periodically prompt the printer for a status update on how it's doing, and on these really long raft perimeters, the printer is so focused doing that, that it waits until it's done before ...

Re: Extruder shooting off in random direction during raft pr

The problem seems to have to do with a single layer taking so long that it fails to report its status to the computer, and the computer times out waiting for a connection. Fixed by going into the machine options and lengthening the default connection timeout to 30 seconds instead of 10.
