Re: indicate when model has been scaled in model list

I guess there are two reasons for scaling a print. 1) some people want to print their plastic ducks at double the size, so scale to 200%; 2) some people want their prints to come out of the printer at exactly the same size as specified the CAD model, so scale to compensate for printer characteristic...

indicate when model has been scaled in model list

If you have a full build plate and a list of models in the appropriate pane, it's hard to tell whether you've remembered to scale them all appropriately for the printer / material. In fact, it's necessary to step through them all one by one and check the settings. It would be nice if the models appe...

Duplicating a Group should make another Group

If one selects a Group of objects (that have been Grouped using the Group command) and duplicate it, this should result in a second group. Currently it results in duplicates of the bodies contained in the existing group, but they must then be selected and grouped manually. (Context: I group objects ...

Re: How to print a brim that skirts the part and not he supports

fyi the way to do this in Fusion360 is to create a "Derive" of the body you want to print into a New File. In that new file modify it adding Brim like features freely. Export that new body to .stl for printing. That way the Original File remains the way it should be for showing to friends and admire...

Re: How to print a brim that skirts the part and not he supports

I agree, that's a problem. In the part below there's a brim all the way around. But if I enable support for the sloping cave like area in the photo then the brim won't go into the cave at all. Printing in ABS that is a real issue. So I have to create brim features in CAD which is a pain.

"combine layers" for solid, just as for infill & support

There are a variety of reasons why it's good to be able to "combine layers" for Support and for regular Infill. For example 0.1mm layers print very slowly and make terrible flaky support and infill structure. I would have no problem printing those at 3x so 0.3mm height. Well the same principles appl...

question about Profiles

I've been using S3d for many years and still have no idea what happens to my settings! Have a saved factory file in which I do all my work. Have create a profile called "ABS Railcore" which is saved and contains, amongst other things, my latest Start and End Scripts. Just tried creating a new Factor...

Re: Stiffer Raft?

Create two printing processes. In the one intended to slice the Raft part of the Model set "Stop printing at height X" (in the Advanced Tab). In the one for the part (the upper part of the Model) set "Start printing at height X" in it's Advanced Tab. Ensure you slice the entire Model using both proc...
