Re: S3D and fixing thin walls?

I did this recently for an other user on this model. Here is the workflow: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7381&p=31861#p31868 Checked it out - I downloaded the fixed file but for some reason it still shows up in S3D with holes in the wings. Ok I tried again a little bit fr...

S3D and fixing thin walls?

I'm trying to print this attached file, but there are holes in the wings. When scaled down, the holes are larger and auto fix measures don't seem to work here. How do I fix it?

Thanks

Re: Ultimaker 3 Profile PLA & PVA additional Tips

I don't have any problem with helping you here or in a PM. If you're extruding PLA when you mean to be extruding PVA for your supports, I'd check your extruder assignment at the top of the Support tab. If your infill is coming out a bit sparse, there's an entire guide to fixing that issue on their ...

Re: Ultimaker 3 Profile PLA & PVA additional Tips

I've tried it a few times and I've been able to get it working about 50% of the time. The new fix makes the plastic much more likely to stay attached to the bottom layer and I'm really glad you could help. I still have a TON of issues with S3D though and if you would allow me to PM you I would be su...

Re: Ultimaker 3 Profile PLA & PVA additional Tips

I don't see an STL attached with your FFF file but I can import one that I've worked with in the past and look at what might be the issue. The Support Underspeed setting in your profile is set to 70%. This is what would be causing your layer 2 and above PVA supports to not print so well. A quick lo...

Re: Ultimaker 3 Profile PLA & PVA additional Tips

Tiger, I've printed with the UM3 using the PLA and PVA profile quite a bit. Can you attach your factory file and maybe a picture of where you're running into adhesion issues? That should give everyone an opportunity to look at what could be going wrong on the PVA side and provide their input. I loo...

Re: Ultimaker 3 Profile PLA & PVA additional Tips

This past weekend I opened my software to find that a new printer had been added to my configuration assistant, Ultimaker3! As I've had this machine for several months now, it is great to finally see a profile from Simplify3D. I hoped the long wait for an official profile meant that things would be...
