Re: Tree supports Tree supports Tree supports

Well, I hope everybody understand that this thread is being ignored by S3D, just like all the threads pertainning to the grandiose release of S3D V5 that took so long to materialize...LOL

I'm sure they are having programmers retention problems by the looks of it...

Re: .stp or .STEP file for Simplify3D

I've already asked for such a feature some years ago. Sometimes I'm wondering why I'm paying for that software...

Non-planar slicing/printing...

Will S3D bring this feature on the table? You really have to innovate these days to keep up. It will be a shame if you don't...

Re: only 1 user per licence in 5.0 ??

I'm also experiencing the same thing as you. Somehow it seems that we only get one activation per seat. I have simplify3D since 2015 and I have paid for this upgrade like the others. Since it's beginning, s3d was granting us 2 activations per seat. Hope they will clarify this situation...

Re: Support not automatically generated?

Hi Jason,

thru the edit process button go to the support tab. Look at the maximum overhang angle value; correct it to whatever value you estimate the overhang you want to support. Make sure to also set the support type to normal.

Hope it helps, have a nice day,

Jocelyn

Add plastic used in real time during simulation...

It would be helpful to get a feel of the amount of plastic used in preview mode in real time. I always struggle with bits of filaments from a used spool, assuming you know what remains, having this figure placed on the right of the toolhead numerics would help us figure out when to pause a print ins...

Laying down support...

I find tidious laying down support structures a little block at a time. Can't we have a way to lay down the blocks like following a line, imaginary or derived from the stl model? Or clicking on a spot and holding the button while dragging until you release the mouse button. What do you think? Have a...

Re: Adding more file support...

I'm not asking S3D to become a CAD software, just the ability to slice thru other file formats that describes in a better way the geometries of our designs and possibly with a better resolution in creating the path. STL and OBJ files can be huge with all those triangles or polygones. It can also be ...

Adding more file support...

By this I mean opening files with a neutral format like STEP and/or IGES written by most CAD programs. No more problems with badly created stl files with open tiles and non manifold errors.
