Re: Can't get rid of unnecessary "fill"

Thanks Doug! That did the trick! But...what?!!?!? Why does the number of layers have an effect like that? I'll report it as a bug unless you think differently.

Also, can you be my color-accurate eyes and tell me what Feature Type those little squiggles are?

Thanks again.

Can't get rid of unnecessary "fill"

In the photo below, note the high frequency (yellow? green? - I'm color-deficient and can't tell) fill on either side of the internal infill. Two questions: 1) Why is it there? It wastes a ton of print time time and beats the crap out of my printer, and it sure looks like it could/should be deleted ...

Re: Minimum Layer Time

+1 Minimum time for layer is a cleaner way to implement that function.

Hack for making S3D insert a pause between chosen layers

Sometimes we want to pause a print at a certain layer, usually to change filament color or insert a nut/other object so it will be embedded. Normally I find the desired layer in the generated gcode and manually insert a M226 (or M600 for Marlin), but I was trying to figure out a way to do it entirel...

Re: How can I eliminate retraction at start of print?

Thanks! That's very helpful. I missed it because I'm using hardware retraction, so I'm substituting all my retractions with G10 and G11, using a post-processing script given to me: {REPLACE "G1 E-1.0000 F60" "G10; retract"} {REPLACE "G1 E1.0000 F60" "G11; unretract"} {REPLACE "G1 E1.0000 F18" ""} If...

[SOLVED] How can I eliminate retraction at start of print?

S3D seems to insert a retraction at the very start of a print, immediately after it runs the Starting Script (which unfortunately means I can't put an unretract in my Startup Script to undo it). Is there any way to disable this? Example: G90 M83 M106 S255 M104 S210 T0 M109 S210 T0 ; This is where St...

Variable Settings Wizard and Temp Towers

With 4.0, I now can easily slice a temp tower into multiple heights with their own processes. But I have to manually go in and change the temperature for each process. And the temp window wants to know the layer. But the slice positions are in mm. So do I have to look up where each slice of the laye...

Re: Print infills before perimeters

+1 I have the same dual extruder issue mentioned above. I have a pretty big (much bigger than I'd like) prime pillar, but alternating white and red filament, it takes a LOT of printing to go back to completely white. Infill first would be a great way to create more attractive prints and save wasted ...

Re: Increase build area without updating firmware.

Some flavors of firmware have a gcode command that lets you move outside the defined build area: (http://reprap.org/wiki/G-code#M564:_Limit_axes)
