Re: Incorrect hole sizes

And one other thing, if we're going to tak about the adult things to do, we should mention normally abandoning cognitive dissonance, assuming the other person isn't just telling lies because he's "out to get us" or "seeking a higher status than us" or more nobly, but equally flaw...

Re: Incorrect hole sizes

I see myself and one other with g code priovong the model *ISNT* being sliced correctly. That's why I asked why your verification was *GRAPHICAL* and not *MATHEMATICAL*. It's a matter of precise definition. Not insult. Yes, now there's frustration in my tone. The g code is flat wrong. The the slicin...

Multiple process support material on bridging boundaries

Yes, is is pretty specific. Day j have a model with an overhanging part at 6mm. Say I want that overhanging part to print at 100% infill, but everything else on the model to print at 25. So I divide up 3 processes. 0-6mm is 25%, 6-11mm is 100%, then from there to the end is 25. Well, if I put that f...

Re: Incorrect hole sizes

You know, I'm just sitting here printing something, so I figured what the heck, I'll triple check. It's worse than I thought. 3mm hole, innermost perimeter (listed as outer perimeter which may have something to do with it) min x 102.732, max x is 105.287. A difference of.....2.555 for a 3mm hole! Th...

Re: Incorrect hole sizes

Your "test" is a graphical depiction?! That's not a test. Are you an engineer? Wow. I will generate a test case sometime when j have time. Until then instead of the standard model oversizing holes by .2-.3 like everything you get on thingiverse, I have to make my own models and oversize by...

Re: Incorrect hole sizes

Yes, it positions the *TOOL* *EXACTLY* where the model defines it. Plastic comes out *BOTH* sides of the nozzle. Place a 3mm hole in an object at 0,0. Note the min/max x/y are at 1.5 and -1.5. With an extrusion width of 0.48 holes will now be a maximum of 2.42mm. Add in the arc issue and it's less. ...

Re: Incorrect hole sizes

Nope, not fixed. I have the latest version. It draws inner perimeters right on the line, not just outside it by extrusion width. There's some depositing of material in the inside of the arc, but that doesn't account for square holes. There's also plastic shrink, but if the outside dimensions are cor...

Native CAD file formats

Well, maybe it is. We always like to oversimplify the problems in our heads, so when it comes to software complexity estimation engineers have to quadruple it in their heads.... Anyhow, step/iges support. STL's are like programming is assembly. You want to modify something? Break out s mesh editor a...

Re: Incorrect hole sizes

Oh, and after the bug fix, can we also get the fix for the arc problem (inside of the arc doesn't need as much material as the outside)? Hopefully something a little more than skeinforge' cryptic parameters that require googling to figure out. Right now I wish I hadn't stopped with skeinforge. Such ...

Re: two bugs

first one was intermittent/transient.

Second one however is a combination bug and (l)user error. I flatio. Distance was on by default. This really should still not stick through a model. I was at least able to print ok :)
