Re: dealing with DRM woes

Very nice. I hadn't thought about using the gcode to extract profile information ( "use the source Luke" :) ).

Support got me up and running again with Simplify3d, but there may be a way that I can use gcode to sync some simplify 3d profiles with Cura...

thanks!

dealing with DRM woes

TL;DR : Is anybody out there using both Simplify3D and Cura, and if so, how do you handle synchronizing settings across the two slicers ? Let me start by saying that I really like Simplify3d. I've tried several different slicers, and s3d works best for me. Having said that, for me, s3d actually no l...

Re: License issues make Simplify3D unusable

The only change was switching from a Mac to Linux. Bare metal, no raid. Doubt that the mac address is changing, though I suppose that it can't hurt to check. It is a multi-homed host ( Wifi and wired ethernet ), so it does have multiple mac addresses. I have noticed that, out of the box, Ubuntu 18.0...

License issues make Simplify3D unusable

I've migrated from a Mac desktop to a linux laptop ( which has not been without some ongoing challenges ) and I'm constantly having to reset the s3d license on my linux machine. After some arbitrary number of resets, I get a message telling me that I've done to many resets and that I need to contact...

Re: multiple installation

The challenge, at least for me, is that there does not appear to be a mechanism for sharing printer profiles between the 2 machines. My printers are network connected and I use both a laptop & a desktop to produce STL files. I've resigned myself to only using Simplify 3d on the desktop as it's j...

Re: Send GCode Directly to OctoPrint

I booted the latest octopi SD image on a Rpi 2, configured the "watch" directory to be /home/pi/printme, installed Samba on the Rpi ( sudo apt-get install samba samba-common-bin ) , used Samba to share /home/pi/printme to my Mac ( edit /etc/samba/smb.conf on the Rpi ) and viola; anything I...

Re: Documentation for Script variables

This is a good place to start: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1959 I can't see where that link documents script variables, but perhaps I'm missing something. All I found at that page was a high level overview of scripting. Am I missing something ( otherwise, I'd have to say NO...
