Copy a process from one Factory File to another?

I wish I could copy and paste an entire process with all its settings from one factory file to another. Why? Because I have two finally tuned processes in two different files, and now I would like to run them sequentially as part of one print. Is there any way? Or do I just have to manually copy all...

Scale factor in machine profile?

For the first time lately I tried using my Flashforge Creator Pro to print something that must be very precisely sized, namely, a Lego brick. I discovered that the size was off, and the brick needed to be scaled to 102.5% to match the size of genuine Lego bricks. I can't blame the model, because on ...

Printrbot machine profile error

I found an error in the default configuration for a Printrbot Simple Metal. The starting script consists of: G28 G29 G28 results in the head going home to the back left corner, then moving diagonally to a somewhat more central location and settling there. The subsequent G29 operates in a displaced c...

Re: Postprocessing, GPX, and pausing

Thanks, I'll try that. But it's going to be different Z levels for every print in a series; awkward to come in here and edit every time. I'd really rather invoke GPX in the Post Processing script, giving it an external config file, if someone can tell me how.

Postprocessing, GPX, and pausing

I was very happy to learn today that Simplify3D has a Postprocessing section and its Scripts configuration tab. I'm having a hard time finding documentation that makes the syntax clear how on to use it. I have a GPX printer (FlashForge), and I need GPX conversion with extras. One blog suggested that...

Re: Pause print, retract, then resume

I tried taking this advice: export the G code, edit, then print from the Machine Control Panel. Unfortunately, my machine uses X3G, and I got the reply, "Printing to this printer in raw gcode is not supported." Am I stuck? Or can I get Simplify3D to perform the service of translating my G ...

Several objects sequentially

I often print small objects, and I find it very useful to print several of them sequentially. But it seems that sequential printing is the neglected stepchild of Simplify3d. I'm finding the following problems: 1. It asks me for a clearance height, I tell it more than the truth, and then separate my ...

Printing an efficient grid

Just now I tried to print a square grid, a grate for sifting gravel. Strange and inefficient things happened. It started making a bunch of little squares with space in between. Perhaps it was going to fill between them later, I'm not sure -- but this is so inefficient! I would be very happy for it t...

Print an existing X3G file

I use Simplify3D on two laptops. One sits at my nice desk, a pleasant design station. The other sits with the printer in a small, awkward utility room. I would like to do all my real work, including preparing and saving the x3g file, on the first computer. And then use Simplify3D on the second compu...

Re: GPX plugin - Binary x3g

The same solution works as least as late as OS X 10.7.5
