z axis moving during a layer

I just noticed something on my Da Vinci 1.0a. During a print, the z-axis varies slightly during a single layer. At first I thought my bed was wobbly, but then I saw the z-stepper was turning on purpose. Right now I am doing a .3mm print, and the z stepper rotates left and right randomly up to a quar...

Print out Process Settings

It would be great if I could print out the complete set of process settings that I use for a model. When I am trying to get something to work I print a series of models and then stick them to index cards with what I think are the relevant process settings jotted down. It helps me to understand inter...

That's a great tip, thank you.

It was not at all obvious that this was possible, so it may still be worth adding it explicitly to the appropriate area of the UI at some point.

Question about bridging

When bridging a rectangular area, wouldn't a diagonal pattern always be best? When slicing the 3DBenchy boat I noticed that the roof bridge was a diagonal pattern, but when slicing a church steeple it was linear. What determines this behavior?

parametric settings

For certain settings like cooling behavior or bridging, it would be helpful to specify the settings parametrically. Instead of discreet values like "For layers under 20 seconds, set the speed to 50%", set the speed of the extruder or the fan speed according to the actual layer time. So if the trigge...

Print subset of model

Note: this feature is not covered by the "Start Printing at xx mm" functionality. If I wish to fine tune the settings for a particular portion of the model, it would be useful to say: Start printing at layer # x and stop printing at layer y". For example, in debugging a church steeple I want to test...
