Where did this section come from...

Hi. Attached are two screen shots of my part. It looks clean but then when I prepare for print, it adds a section. Maybe its a support, although doesnt seem like it. I've been trying to figure out how to remove just that section. Note- I rotated the part view so you could see the the section in ques...

Loose seams. Missing part

I modeled a part using sketchup web. I'm not experienced so I eventually fumbled my way through. I have a small dome with 3 components connected to it. First print left some space at the connections and the parts fell off. I eventually figured out how to make sure the parts were solids and then used...

Re: Slicing model in half

That is how I did it, but when I bring it into M3D it shows the whole model. Actually, and maybe the problem.... If I hit print Preprep to print, with the model positioned half below the Z, It shows the paths and looks correct. If I save that, it saves it as gcode and maybe that is just the top half...

Not printing round

I am using my M3D printer to print a small, simple part which is basically a plug. It has a larger round section measuring 5mm diameter and 4mm tall with another smaller cylinder 3mm D x 3mm tall. Its looks like a machine screw without the threads and a round head. The problem is the "round-nes...

Re: M3D extruder not low enough only with simplify3D

Thanks for the info Joe. I was able to get things working a lot better now, however apparently M3D doesnt provide some data or something technical that allows Simplify3D to actually control M3D unit. I read about that in another post. Therefore, I am unable to use the S3D bed calibration. The bed on...

Re: M3D extruder not low enough only with simplify3D

I will read through that link. thanks.
The thing with this is the bed has been calibrated and leveled in the printers software, but S3D seems to be over riding that or something. Is that possible?

M3D extruder not low enough only with simplify3D

I recently started using Simplify3D with my M3D printer. I have a problem where the edges were curling up. I treid many different things, sticky stuff and blue tape but nothing worked. One time I watched the first layer and noticed that its not printing well which would def seem to cause the edges t...

A prob using other filament

I had a large roll of PLA from a previous machine. I figured I'd use it up with the M3D. I also just started using Simplify3D New new PLA, which is the same size, works great, except the edges curl up an lift. I knew that was a problem with ABS, but not PLA. I thought maybe it was happening from Sim...
