It just looks like this could be accomplished if the slicer just squished those layers together a bit more or raised the Z more slowly in that region. That would probably cause a lot of ugly over-extrusion I suppose. Or if it could do the spiral corkscrew mode until it got to regions like this and t...

Vase Mode Layer Gap
I've done a lot of printing in Vase mode before and haven't run into issues, but suddenly am having gaps between layers. I suspect it has something to do with the large layer heights combined with the curvature, but it really seems like there shouldn't be an issue. It only happens in the curvy areas...
