Let me know if you might want one so I can get some rough numbers. No obligation.

GIant Marvin Lamp

I printed this with Simplify3D (by far my fav. slicer). It is a giant Marvin Lamp. It produces an awesome soft light, uses low voltage LEDs, and it fully dimmable from lamp to nite-light. It took 40 hours to print, and man was the support hard to remove from the Inside! I've had some people ask me i...

Re: G2/G3 Arc Paths options

Hey!

Is this yours?

http://mikk36.eu/SimplifyS3D/

I've tried it a few times, but can't figure out how to get my code much smaller. Not sure what good e resolution settings are either! :)

If you have an app, could I beta test it?

Best,
J

Re: G2/G3 Arc Paths options

Well, it is certainly up to them to choose what they want to impliment. I'd like to see it as an option, if for no other reason than to test it out. If it worked well for me, it would allow me to go from 50mm/s to 150mm/s or more on parts with curved walls. That would save a ton of time on what is c...

Re: Native Arc and/or segment resolution choice

Hi, I'm glad your printer can handle it. Most common printers have issues. If I understand your tests correctly, S3D creates a large number of segments compared to Skeinforge and Slic3r. SO, one option would be a segment resolution control. Also - for .STL files, arcs do make sense. The software tha...

Native Arc and/or segment resolution choice

I'd love to see a G2/G3 checkbox. Right now when printing curves, if I want them to be smooth, I can't go over 50mm/sec or every now and then my marlin-based printer will stutter and create ugly surfaces. I'd love to give native arcs a try. If it doesn't work, I'd just switch it off! Alternatively -...

Re: SIngle nozzle width walls print bumpy

Jim, Thank you. Seems like it ought to be able to recognize a single extrusion wall - if lets say it is within 5% of the extrusion width in size. Maybe that could be a software option. Instead I have to build all my custom supports double thick, which uses more material and makes them harder to remo...

SIngle nozzle width walls print bumpy

My nozzle is .5mm, and I am printing at .61mm. I model my walls to be at least 2x the nozzle in nearly all cases. Sometimes I design-in my own supports, and in those cases I make .62mm walls as supports to save time and material. These walls print as a huge bumpy mess. The printhead bumps and bangs ...
