Re: Cooling fan 0 generates M106 S8

This offset of 8/255 seems to carry on through the whole job, 80% becomes 83% and so on. It does not occur always but most often. Hadn't noticed this ever before but haven't really had to until now that I needed to add minimum level for my new Duet based printer as my blower fan didn't co-op well wi...

Cooling fan 0 generates M106 S8

Settings:
Layer 1 has Fan 0%
Layer 2 has fan 70%.

End result is gcode that sets the fan to 3% (8/255).

This is generated before startup script:

Re: Top layer perimeter shell gaps

Yeah. I've tested the maximum output of my hotend with this material, and set the limit below what seemed like a safe limit. Not all the way where extruder started skipping, but below a point where extruded filament started getting inconsistent width (not melting efficiently any more). The safe limi...

Re: Top layer perimeter shell gaps

I didn't shrug it off as a nonsense, you misunderstood it in the first place and well, yes my phrasing was quite directly wrong there too but like said I just meant that there shouldn't be any difference between this top layer and other layers. My idea of this thread was just to ask if others have n...

Re: Top layer perimeter shell gaps

Here's a better pic of a 3rd layer. Again, same speeds apply here. I have bed heating off so it shouldn't be about temperature differences either. Maybe it is something about in this materials properties that causes the shells to break apart once enough layers are stacked, dunno, but as for the line...

Re: Top layer perimeter shell gaps

Why bother asking questions when you think you already know everything? 3D printing isn't a perfect process. There are a bazillion variables. Sometimes you need to tweak things to get the best results. As far as stretching, look at the diameter of the bead as it exits the nozzle. It will be larger ...

Re: Top layer perimeter shell gaps

I always run the extrusion width 115-125% of the nozzle diameter. With them equal you're stretching the filament while printing. If you have solid infill printing slower, it could be that you're printing the perimeters too fast. I find some materials do better when I reduce the extruder multiplier ...

Top layer perimeter shell gaps

The topic sounds quite familiar probably but the issue details seem a bit trickier this time. While struggling with other issues I noticed that printing this stringing test piece with 100% fill and 9 outlines, the top layer has a lot of gaps, like it would be under extruding. While monitoring the pr...

Re: More options of setting different material and quality settings in one profile

Sorry for resurrecting the old thread but it seems nothing has changed with this profile management in several years, or have I missed something? I completely agree that material setting should change more than what it currently does and it's frustrating to use as is now. Maybe have a simple choice ...

Re: How Brim and Ooze shield work together.

This is a problem for bigger parts too.
My ooze shield is not sticking to the base well so I need to use brim for it. Would be even better if I could merge it with the actual part too. Or then add a feature to have a brim for the ooze shield itself.
