Thank you for the tip! printing perfectly now, the little black dot you mentioned shows up in all of my prints of that part and not in others so I think it must have something to do with the slicing or the original model.

Alloy 910 print gets worse as it prints
I am trying to print functional worm gears with Taulman Alloy 910 on a creatr HS, the attached image is of a gear 30mm tall. As can be seen in the photo the print starts out well and about half way up the edges of the gear lose their shape but the internal structure and gear faces have a satisfactor...
