Re: Movement speed coloring mm/s

I think the range already represents the smallest and largest F-values in your file. So if you're getting a really large max value in the chart, it probably means you have a really large F-value in the file. So open your gcode file in a text editor and look for large F-values. It's possible you ent...

Re: Poor quality on top+bottom of prints

I agree that it looks like over extrusion on the top layer.

For the bottom layer, I notice your 1st layer width is 150%. Is that deliberate, and have you tried 100%?

Re: Localised infil

Vince,

Perhaps you could follow the same approach, but partition the model so that the outer skin is one single component, and the inner structures are separate components that, when aligned, will sit in the correct place inside the outer skin?

Re: Slicer behavior for thin walled sections

Doug, Thanks, but... Most slicer software packages will extrude this minimum width for where the width of the designed wall is less than the extrusion width. Simplify3D differs in that it stops the extrusion whenever the wall width is less than the extruded width. The highlighted part is what confus...

Re: Slicer behavior for thin walled sections

I've just been hit by this issue/problem/user confusion. I've read this thread, plus others, and despite some excellent explanations I remain confused. Hoping someone can correct my thinking. I created a box (using Fusion360) with walls 0.4mm thick, floor 0.9mm. The walls do not appear in the previe...

Re: Dual Extruder offset and temperatures

Hi Pikelo,

It is possible to add script commands to change the temperature of the extruders based on the active tool. The information is part of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1959.

Re: 3D Printers in the UK?

I'm also a newcomer. After my WanHao supplied PLA ran out I bought a reel of black PLA from http://rigid.ink/ and I've had no problems other than the coils on the spool seem to like to tangle themselves. I put this down to "user error" when loading the reel. I've had no actual jams or fail...

Re: Ooze shield printing in mid air

Thanks for all the replies. I consider this a bug. The original setting was for a "waterfall" ooze shield. That's the form that displayed the printing-in-the-air bug. I switched to "contoured" and it worked well. Personally, if the preview showed an error, such as printing in mid...

Ooze shield printing in mid air

Hi, According to the preview, parts of the ooze shield for http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:329436 would start printing in mid air. In particular, between the "thumb" and 1st finger on the front feet, which start to appear at layer 41. Additionally, the ooze shield behind the "thumbs&...
