Re: Reset corrupt FFF profile

And now S3D is crashing again when I try to modify FFF settings, looks like I get to re-do everything a third time :(

Also, I print off SD cards, so it has nothing to do with printing from USB in my case.

Re: FFF Settings, Multiple Processes, Dual Extrusion Confusi

OK, I found the answer to #3 in this article: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/articles/printing-with-multiple-extruders/ If both processes share a same value (which they will since you select ONE process in the dual extrusion wizard), updating one will update them all. You have to ungroup the pro...

FFF Settings, Multiple Processes, Dual Extrusion Confusion!!

OK, So I've been using S3D for a while now and I should really understand how all this works, but I don't. Also, I spent some time reviewing past posts but did not see this addressed directly. The only way I've been able to get dual extrusion to work is by sheer determination! So I start with the Du...

Re: Reset corrupt FFF profile

Yeah I experienced a similar issue twice now with my MAKEiT Pro. The first time I had to re-install and clear registry keys to get it to work again without crashing. The second time I managed to get it working by deleting my profiles and starting over from scratch. Now I take screenshots of all the ...

Re: Crashing Constantly on Process Update

Also crashes when trying to export the FFF profile, so can't send it in with bug report let alone restore it after a reset. It makes sense, corrupt file that cannot be updated cannot be exported either/ Last time I had to manually copy ALL the settings for the corrupted profiles then reset everythin...

Re: Crashing Constantly on Process Update

I'm having the same problem! I had the problem previously, and I though it was due to me "forcing" a Dual Extrusion profile for my MAKEiT Pro. I reset all the settings and started over, did not use the dual extrusion wizard at all and, problem solved... ...or at least I though. Now it is d...

Re: Cooling - Fan Speed Percentage?

If things such as "Support Infill Percentage" only let you put in values of 0-100, then shouldn't other things that are 0-100 percentages work the same way? I can't put "abc" into "Outline Overlap" because it is a percentage, but I can put it into Fan Speed which is als...

Re: Cooling - Fan Speed Percentage?

I have a MAKEiT Pro which uses PWM for the fan, with settings from 0-255.

So does a value of 100 fan speed = 255 (max), or is it only 100 out of 255 (like 40%-ish)?

Cooling - Fan Speed Percentage?

I have a question about the fan speed.

It doesn't max out at 100%, you can set pretty much any number... so if you set it to 300 are you overdriving the fan by 3x?

I guess what is confusing me is the fact that 100% is not max?

Re: Blobs even using "Wipe nozzle" or "Coast at end"?

I use a MAKEiT Pro, and have been gradually dialing in settings to get rid of blobs and oozing.

With ABS and PET+, setting Coast at End to 2-3mm, Retraction Distance to 6, and Retraction Speed to 80 I've managed reduced blobbing and oozing. YMMV

For PLA, I use Wipe instead of coast.
