Slice Behavior Fail

The default Slice Behavior is "Positive Fill" and this is now th fourth or fifth time that method failed. I switched to Alternating fill each time which cured the problem. Nothing like this ever happened under V4. This most recent occurance was particularly costly to us and I'm wondering i...

Saving supports

Where does one find the "Save Suopports" toggle in version 5.1?
This is a critical feature that downshifts my Ver5 grade from a B+ to a C-.
I can't be the only one not hit by this omission.

Re: Document scripting engine capabilities

Has S3D sold us vapourware? Where is the vaunted "Scripting Engine" and how does one invoke it? Where is it described other than, as we all know from your advert, it is "POWERFUL" to quote your web page. Must be so because it also features a stealth mode - undetectable by any mea...

Re: Arachne

Thanks. Perimeters I knew about but had somehow missed the gap fill effect - improves results immensely especially on top and bottom surfaces. Adds a bit of time but for my purposes appearance usually trumps the extra few minutes.

[ADDED] Arachne

The V5.1 new features has nearly copnvinced me to split for V5. If you had added Arachne perimeters option you would have had my check. I employ a lot of raised text in my functional models and Prusa w/ Arachne produces crisp, readable small text far better than S3D. I am so much more comfortable wi...

Perspective rendering in S3D

Perspective screen display can lead to problems when placing large or multiple parts. When manually arranging parts which crowd the print boundary the perspective views distort the part edge locations. This is especially a problem with the way S3D handles Delta printers in that the displayed bed sur...

Re: Ridiculous Layer Count in Preview

Duh !

Solved >

I had inadvertently clicked on "Preview By" box which changed the preview from "By Layer" to "By Line". Didn't even know what this was before today - presumably means per line of G-code. Stupid me.

Ridiculous Layer Count in Preview

Hi - Factory file attached where a very simple, very tiny part (12.7 mm height) reports 14037 layers - 0.30 per layer. The part layering look correct in the rendering and the gcode file "looks" to be correct. But I cannot run the layer by layer preview. I shut down to computer and ran anot...

[SOLVED] 4.1.1 Bridge Infill Angle Fail

S3D 4.1.1 ignores the bridging infill angle settings - always at zero degrees whether "Fixed" is checked or not or set at any other angle. this feature worked correctly in 4.1.0.
