Re: PETG settings top layer issues

I am printing tonight with PETG for the first time, and came to this thread by searching for help. I am experiencing exactly the same problem - first solid layer is so bad that it ends up leaving bumps behind that have to be overcome in successive layers. I even had to pause the print and use a file...

Re: Simplify3D Won't Launch Properly

For your benefit, though, I just added a rule to the firewall allowing all communications from S3D. No change. Even had to restart my PC to get it to launch.

Re: Simplify3D Won't Launch Properly

Except that when in your assumption, there is no network communication, and I happen to kill the svchost process and suddenly get a login window, the communication for the login works fine (but I have to then go to the website to kill the former login). Communication is happening. And I don't recall...

Re: Simplify3D Won't Launch Properly

Windows 10 Pro, with Anniversary Update. The firewall is at default settings, and every now and then S3D launches right away, but that's rare, so most of the time I open Task Manager as soon as I click to launch the application. This tells me that since it launches occasionally without delay, and mo...

Simplify3D Won't Launch Properly

I am having a problem where I try to launch Simplify3D (3.1.0), and nothing happens. Sometimes when I open the task manager, it will become visible, and I can just close the task manager and go to work in S3D. Sometimes I've had to restart my PC to get it to launch. Today, I tried going into Task Ma...

Re: Slicing Without Common Sense

The common sense that I was referring to was in naming the command. I used the separate command and it joined the meshes together. It did the opposite of what "separate" means.

Re: Slicing Without Common Sense

That works. Thanks! It seems rather counter to common sense, though, as "separate" connected surfaces sounds like the opposite if what I want, since I wanted to join them. ;)

Regardless of the word, it works. Thanks!

Slicing Without Common Sense

Please take a look at this attached STL, and the attached gcode file. Look around layer 50, at how Simplify3D sliced it, which defies common sense. There are overhangs which are meant to be solidly attached to the wall that they are attached to, yet Simplify3D sliced the file as if these are separat...
