Re: Coast Compensation

It's not true that a perfectly calibrated extruder will not blob because the molten plastic starts dripping as soon as the hot end starts traveling in open spaces. I'm trying to eclipse this dripping w/ coast. I've noticed this especially when printing a large quantity of fine detail pieces separate...

Re: Coast Compensation

Hello S3D-Jake, 1. I'm using Coast to completely eliminate stringing when printing a lot of little letters which entails a lot of retracts occuring on the same layer. 2. My extruders are dialed in perfectly, so I am not using coast to compensate for poorly calibrated extruders. 3.1 Let's use round n...

Coast Compensation

1. In some situations Coast is the only way to mitigate stringing. 2. Please add back the quantity of filament that Coast subtracts to prevent gaps from eventually showing up due to the cumulative affect of a large amount of Coasts. 3. Add back the quantity of filament that Coast subtracts over the ...

Align Prime Pillars

Please offer option to align similar size prime pillars / skirts between consecutive processes. Here's an example that shows where aligning prime pillars and skirts would be helpful:

Re: Major Retraction Bug In S3D

Now I found another major problem with V4.1. The following pic shows how V4.1 is not extruding and/or retracting properly on the perimeters: IMG_E9528[1].JPG Here's the same settings in V4.0.1 showing beautiful perimeters on the same part: IMG_E9529[2].JPG However as I mentioned at the beginning of ...

Re: Major Retraction Bug In S3D

The retraction bug I found was in your previous version 4.0.1. It looks like your team fixed it in the latest release 4.1 although it looks like there are other significant bugs in this new release, for example retraction while wipe appears broken (https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11...

[FIXED] Major Retraction Bug In S3D

I was printing a peg-hole torture test and noticed my printer was stopping for what seemed like a long time at repeatable points. It turns out S3D was performing extremely slow retracts which made it seem like the printer was paused. For example, S3D generated a bunch of E-1 F3 slow retracts at the ...

Re: Best Glue for PETG & PLA

True, but I think to use it as a part-to-bed bonding agent they must add some other ingredients which could possibly be as simple as adding a little plastic does not have to be "same type" .. most of the print plastic sticks pretty well to PVA and PVA solutions are easily available and easily appli...

Re: Add accel and jerk settings for accurate build time calc.

It's working! Not sure what happened before, but I closed S3D, then noticed an icon in my task bar, opened it up and there was the print time pop up you referenced. I reopened S3D, saved another print job and now the pop up is displayed every time. Not sure why it didn't come to the forefront the fi...

...edit gs.bat to be like this (this configuration does not upload file to octoprint, if you want to automatically upload to octoprint leave the api and url thing as original just change api and url values): @echo off for %%a in (%1) do ( set filepath=%%~dpa set filename=%%~na set extension=%%~xa )...
