Re: 4.11 has graphical issues

Is there no other solution to my graphical issues? or are my options to either buy a new Computer and hope it works or simply not use the new version of S3D?

Re: 4.11 has graphical issues

it looks like my "acceleration mode" was set to "automatic" setting it to "native hardware acceleration" results in a completely black window. setting it to "compatibility mode" has the same problems as before (this must be what automatic was selecting) settin...

4.11 has graphical issues

Yesterday I loaded Simplify3D and it informed me that a new version was available and asked if I'd like to install. So I did. it looks like I was on v3.11 and upgraded to v4.11 but now the 3D graphics when placing the models is messed up. here is how it looks in 3.11: s3d_v311.jpg here is how it loo...

Re: Help with under-extruded parameters

Despite having the same basic print speed settings I'd suspect that something about the way cura calculates it's extrusion speed ends up being slower than S3D. I did say that settings for Cura wouldn't transfer to S3d, didn't I? The speed settings transferred fine, what it did with them was how it ...

Re: Help with under-extruded parameters

Per a suggestion else where I decreased the the filament thickness setting... This resulted in the problem actually getting worse. Thinking about this I set the filament size back to 1.75 and the extrusion multiplier back to .9 and dropped the printing speed way down to about 1500 mm/min (from the o...

Re: Help with under-extruded parameters

if you're interested here are the gcode files for each silcer as well as the STL file. A factory file would be far more useful...... here you go: simple_square.factory And just for the record, settings are not 100% transportable between different slicer software packages. Obviously, but I went thro...

Re: Help with under-extruded parameters

Here you go... I printed a 50x50x5mm square with 4-perimeters 0% in-fill and 0 top layers... s3d_cube.jpg I just in-case you're wondering how far apart those perimeters actually are, it makes a great razor blade holder, they slide right in, straight to the bottom s3d_cube2.jpg Note that even the flo...

Re: Help with under-extruded parameters

The picture you posted looks like it's from the first layer. Do what andrew suggested and print a simple cube with 4 perimeters, 0% infill and 0 top solid layers. Then take a picture of layer #20 or higher. That's a better way to check underextrusion. If it's just the first layer that's wrong, then...

Re: Help with under-extruded parameters

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? The same settings in Cura prints perfectly... it seems that it's just stuff coming out of Simplify3D that is under extruding... it's like it's ignoring the multiplier settings, even cranking it up to 300% produces the same result; as if nothing had changed.
