Re: Slicer behavior for thin walled sections

I'd like to see at least 3 options: Single wall extrusion biased to the outside perimeter Single wall extrusion biased to the inside perimeter Single wall extrusion biased to the center line Here's a picture showing how I imagine biasing to the outside and biasing to the inside would work. The pathi...

Re: Bridgin bolt sink holes

What if you change your design to use flat head socket head screws like these http://www.mcmaster.com/#90585a546/?

Your printer should be able to print the conic counter sink without support.

UI - Fan Activy Color Code

The current coloring options in the 3D preview are, Movement Speed, Active Tool Head, and Feature Type. Please add fan speed to this list of options. This would be really helpful for confirming fan settings without having to actually run the part. It would also be nice to see if the fan was going to...

UI - G-code Display in Preview

Having a g-code window that was synchronized to the 3D preview would be very helpful in debugging designs and editing g-code. As you stepped through the preview line by line, the g-code would scroll by in the g-code window with the current line of g-code being highlighted. The g-code window could be...

Custom Print Head Model

Currently the preview displays the print head as a simple cylinder with a cone at the bottom. It would be helpful if that model could be replaced with an .stl file of the print head. Having an actual model of the print head in the preview would make it possible to visually check for collisions durin...

Re: Add more controls for Bridges

I'd really like to see bridges handled as nearest neighbor paths between islands. This would result in better bridges between islands that aren't parallel to the X or Y axis. Also in cases of concentric islands (a cylinder within a cylinder) the bridge filaments would be radial rather than rectiline...

Re: Sequential printing within a process

+1 Sequential printing without a mountain of process to deal with would be great for those of use who do production runs. What about a grid option? Setup a single model and process and then tell S3D to print the a grid X parts wide by Y parts deep and proceeding through the parts by means of fore/af...

Re: Unbundling Vase Mode

I agree in the vase mode and "standard mode" algorithms should not be mutually exclusive. There is no reason the X Y motion of the print head should stop during a layer change in "standard mode." We currently have "zipper" seams where the print head stops, proceeds to t...

Re: Better feedback on feature requests posted here....

Most forums have a polling capability. It would be nice if the developers would poll the users on which features should be prioritized. Maybe a monthly poll with ideas gathered from the suggestions in this section. I think one of the biggest issues with the suggestions forum is it really needs to be...

Re: Alternative to ABS

Have you looked at ColorFabb's XT and HT lines of filaments. They are tough and strong, print without peel up when used with buildtak, low odor, and the HT line is good up to temps of 100 C. I've pretty printing mostly with XT and it makes really reliable parts. I've make bike rack brackets, and hea...
