Re: Version 5 Announcement

The "Your cart" bit doesn't make sense to appear in the forum login. The "commercial" side of S3D has always been a separate login from the forum (and deservedly so, from a security standpoint).

Re: PETG Support

Sorry to hear that. Its possible that some of the difficulties might be due to differences in PETG formulations between brands. I use those settings with some old MakerGeeks filaments, as well as newer SnoLabs (though I have some silver Veracity that requires at least 250C). Also, I typically run PE...

Re: PETG Support

Just FYI, I've had pretty good luck with PETG supports. Some geometries work better than others, of course. I created a virtual extruder, so I could have really different parameters if needed. With a 0.4 nozzle, I typically run EW at 0.50, including supports, but I have run them down to 0.40. I also...

Re: Voids at Ends of Perimeters

If you haven't already done so, align your start points to a specific location (Layer tab) for testing. It will make it much more obvious to see what may be going on.

And another option, depending on your software capabilities: Load dependent Infill placement.

Re: Problem with Holes in PETG

I understand your frustration with getting small details in the 1st layer to adhere. In the case of your holes, consider: 1) Additional perimeters for the first layer, if not appropriate for the whole part (i.e. a separate process for the 1st layer if necessary). Print these from the outside in, so ...

Re: "Account limit reached" every time I restart my PC (Linux)

Just to let you know, you're not alone. When I was running LinuxMint as my primary OS, the same would happen every several reboots. I worked with S3D support, but never did figure it out. These days, however, I'm primarily in Win10 and haven't had to deal with it in a long time.

Re: loading simplify3d in linux mint

Also, when installing, never choose to run S3D immediately (I believe you have to uncheck a box).

I do this out if habit, so it may have changed with 4.0, but otherwise it sets root as owner.

[FIXED] Prime pillar being skipped

Perhaps I'm not using the right search terms, but I haven't come up with other posts about this. (Running 3.1.1) I've noticed some flaky behavior with using 2 extruders to one hot-end (SeeMeCNC Y adapter). Though I usually get a proper filament purge when changing tools, I spotted this yesterday dur...

Re: Rostock hanging at start of job

Thanks for the reply. I had sent two files that were failing for me, to a friend with the same printer & S3D, and both printed fine for him.

I re-flashed the firmware this evening, and restored the same EEPROM values, and it seems to have corrected it - for now, at least.
