Coasting at end of support material pass

Hey guys, I'm printing with PETG and on a layer that has no support material I get a perfect print. On any slice that has support material, I get a stringer from the support to the part. Things I'm assuming: 1. The support material automatically has a wider extrusion width for stability 2. It's not ...

Re: Ooze Control: Extra Restart Distance

What about if I have “retract during wipe movement” Which takes priority? Ex: wipe distance is 5mm and minimal travel before retraction: 6mm. Retract with wipe movement is ON. Will a retraction happen during the wipe movement even though the wipe movement is shorter than the minimal travel distance?...

Ooze Control: Extra Restart Distance

Hey guys, I use extra restart distance (negative) on the start of perimeters after a retraction to help prevent small blobs at the beginning of a print loop. This works great for your typical travel movements, however sometimes as a part gets taller, the details become smaller or you get to a cross ...

Re: S3D PLA defect fix

I've upped my retraction distance a bit without any change at all to the print.

Would you suggest I try messing with "extra restart distance" and, since it looks like it's over extruding, put in a slight negative number to prime the nozzle less?

Thanks
Jim

S3D PLA defect fix

Hi all, I'm trying to tweak in my S3d profile settings for PLA using my lulzbot mini. I loaded the latest profile and I've been noticing some defects I can't get rid of, yet Cura seems to handle things perfectly. If anyone has some suggestions on how I could fix these small issues, please let me kno...

Re: Dual Extrusion Octopus Mess!

Not that I have a solution, but I would argue your greenish material looks good in the middle. White looks bad everywhere. If you look at your white squares your layer adhesion looks pretty bad. The only reason I think it looks a little better is because the green parts outside of it are kinda holdi...

Print Defects on walls<20 degrees

Hey guys, I'm seeing some print defects on my parts that aren't overhangs and I'd like some help diagnosing. Please see the attacahed zip file for the factory file, and pictures of the defects. On the back of the part, I have slanted defects. My guess is this is where the nozzle starts on each layer...

Overhang View

Hi, I'm brand new to S3D after using Cura for over a year. My question is a simple one. I LOVE that I can specify fan speed control based on layer, but does S3D have a "overhang view" like Cura where it will highlight the areas that are greater than a specified angle? Better still can it t...
